Special Session Recap
"Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, we are free at last." Those unforgettable words were the cap on possibly the most dynamic speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during his short-lived life. One would wish the same could be said for the 82nd legislative session with the first special session coming to an end. However, the fact is that would be far from true, as the impact of the poor decisions made this session will be felt for at least a decade.
Special Session Edition
Allow me this opportunity to extend a belated, but heartfelt Happy Father's Day to all those fathers who embrace the responsibility of leading households, and raising their children to become productive citizens in pursuit of that indelible American dream. As we look ahead to the celebration of our nation's Independence Day, I would like to take a moment to reflect on and acknowledge the Juneteenth holiday we recently celebrated, which is as important a day for many African Americans as July 4th.
